Schönholzer Heide

The Schönholzer Heide is a small urban forest that has been designated a landscape conservation area since 2014. Walking paths lead through the pine, spruce, maple, plane tree and oak trees that make you forget the hustle and bustle of Berlin. In addition, the forest area is an extremely historic place. It includes the imposing "Soviet Memorial", the dark history of a forced labour camp under National Socialism and the founding history of a 35 hectare pleasure and vegetable garden by the Prussian Queen Elisabeth Christine (1715-1797).
