Between dacha idyll, VEB canteen and imprisonment in Bautzen: "Everyday life in the GDR" is the theme of the permanent exhibition that can be seen in the museum in the KulturBrauerei. On 600 square meters, original objects, documents, film and sound recordings show the gap between claims and the reality of life in the GDR. Stories from the experiences of individuals illustrate different attitudes in the communist dictatorship, from convinced adherence to attempted abstention to resistance. Admission is free.
