Transitional Society. Actors of Transformation in Berlin and Brandenburg after 1989
Touring exhibition from 25.06.2021 to 06.02.2022
The exhibition takes us back to the time of upheaval following the Peaceful Revolution and brings to life the many aspects and complexity of those years, using the lives of 14 women and men as examples. In doing so, the exhibition looks at a time that is more controversial today than ever before. While some speak of a successful unification, others believe that the East was foreign-dominated and colonized by the West. Yet the years of transformation were much more complex and marked by the commitment of numerous East Germans. This is also reflected in the life stories of the people portrayed in the exhibition. Their experiences include a wide range of successful involvement in business, politics and society, but also setbacks and the need to reorient themselves.
