The Ernst-Thälmann-Park. Complex planning for a prestige object.
The exhibition "The Ernst-Thälmann-Park. Complex Plans for a Prestige Object" is initially online and, following its reopening, can be seen in the foyer of the Zeiss Großplanetarium. The exhibition shows the history of the planning and development of the ideal of socialist urban planning in the late GDR, which has been a protected monument since 2014. In particular, the combination of the Thälmann monument, housing construction, park landscape and social buildings such as the planetarium will be illuminated to create an overall picture.
The exhibition is a joint project of Stiftung Neue Kultur, Leibniz Institute for Research on Society and Space (IRS), Kulturforum Berlin-Nordost e.V., Stiftung Planetarium Berlin, and Tourismusverein Berlin-Pankow e.V. It is kindly funded by Berliner Landeszentrale für politische Bildung.
